The Brief

Sandbox is Richmond's newest business consultancy. Prior to contracting with The Regeneration Co., their team of four founders were recruiting clients mainly through their professional networks and via referrals. Despite their success, the company lacked name and brand recognition. That's where we came in.

 
 

Approach

Sandbox's core team members were very explicit that the purpose of their new brand and website was not to make a sales pitch, but to establish legitimacy as well as name and brand recognition. They also wanted a user-friendly layout that reflected their playful but functional approach to business development while clearly defining their purpose, services, and philosophy. Thus, the Regeneration Co. set out to create a brand that was equal parts playful, serious, and sincere. Our color palette inspiration was derived from retro beach photos of Asbury Park, NJ. The logo is an artistic play on a literal sandbox. Throughout the site, there are references to digging, building, creating, and working together to create better businesses without sacrificing quality of life.

Communications Strategy

 
 

Overview

Every writer understands the importance of brevity. However, boiling a complex business structure down into easily understandable quips is no small task. It is especially challenging when the subject is as technical and complex as venture capitalism.

For Sandbox, we needed not only to write detailed, technical and accurate copy, but we also needed to display it in a way that was easily digestible and — per their brand guidelines — fun. Further, we had to create concise content to describe an array of services that are atypical of other business consultancies. Unlike similar companies, Sandbox offers its clients strategic advice on business strategy as well as people strategy (recruiting, networking, talent acquisition). Sandbox is where "business strategy meets people strategy."
